Menehune Marvels is a modern version of a scavenger hunt, where your group can form teams (or just play as one team) and engage in a series of tasks in Waikiki where you will be required to take pictures or upload videos of your team doing something at the location.
The groups who have played this game have really enjoyed the video tasks the most as it makes them the "star of the show!" This is a great game for all ages (mainly teenagers and above, though if you have some younger kids in the group, there are definitely things they can do in the game). It has been very popular for team-building activities
Essentially, this is an ultra-modern version of a scavenger hunt game. In this game, your team will have a list of places to walk to, and along the way, they will be asked to find things (and take pictures of them) or ... and this is what this game is known for ... to perform tasks and make short videos.
Like traditional scavenger hunts, the Menehune Marvels game starts with having to find certain things. Some of the tasks are simple, "find a dog and take a picture", or "find a statue with surfer and have your team take a picture mimicking his pose."
Other tasks will require you to gather some information. Perhaps find out some specific information about Queen Kapiolani from her statue, or find a historical marker and note something specific.
But the most fun comes in the tasks where you have tasks you have to act out. After finding a bus stop, you may be tasked to "Take a video of one or more of your teammates miming while waiting for the bus. Things to include in the mime: Checking the Time Repeatedly, Looking Down the Road, and Reacting to False Alarms." Or perhaps have to recite a Hawaiian tongue twister in front of the Aquarium. Or find a spot by the ocean and reenact the "I'm Flying" scene from Titanic. There are endless tasks that are available for your adventure.
We have multiple games, including an option for you to play with your family, letting the younger kids act out the tasks, or perhaps something a little more challenging for the teens and older kids, or a nice stroll in the park for adults.
Our game masters are experienced professionals who are dedicated to making sure you have the best possible experience. Throughout the game, a gamemaster will oversee your progress, providing feedback, and ensuring that you are having fun and staying safe. If you choose to compete with multiple teams, each task has points assigned to it and the gamemaster can give bonuses for tasks done exceptionally well.
We do have the ability to add some customization to the game if you want that. We do a lot of corporate team building games where we can add specific information or things that they want the players to find. Contact us for information about this option.
